Dear USG Chancellor Perdue and UNC President Hans,
Thank you for the leadership shown by the University of North Carolina (UNC) and the University System of Georgia (USG) in advancing syllabus transparency across your respective systems. Transparency plays an essential role in bringing to light problematic courses and biased or hateful materials, including those that promote antisemitism or distorted anti-Jewish narratives.
By choosing to make course information more accessible on a voluntary basis, both systems have demonstrated a meaningful commitment to openness and accountability in higher education. At a time when trust in higher education is under strain, these actions show that institutions can lead proactively.
We join the American Jewish Congress in calling for nationwide syllabus transparency as a commonsense measure that promotes academic integrity and helps root out antisemitism and hate from classrooms.
We appreciate your leadership and your continued efforts to promote transparency, accessibility, and excellence across American academic institutions.
Respectfully,
[The Undersigned]
P.S. Please share this letter to amplify the call for nationwide syllabus transparency and ensure that biased or hateful content has no place in our classrooms.
